Story

My background:

Hello, my name is Howard! The team here don't know anything about my past as I was rescued as a stray without a previous owner claiming me. It didn't take me long to bond with my handlers and show them my wonderful nature!

My personality:

I am a very loving and loyal boy, I will quickly form a bond with you as I am people orientated and loves to please. I don't like being on my own because of my sociable nature and desire to be on the go.

How I feel about people:

I love people! I am a happy and out going boy when it comes to meeting new people. Be prepared for me to lean on your legs and gaze into your eyes await a huge fuss! Despite being so good with people, I do need an adult only home due to my bounciness. Even though I am one years old, I am still learning and maturing so I need a home to continue training whilst I am at this adolescent age. I can be bouncy, jump p and play mouth making me unsuitable to be around children because of my size. Please note, the team aren't sure of my bred mix, but I am reaching Irish Wolfhound size.

How I feel about other dogs:

I do like other dogs and have a playful nature, however I haven’t many manners when it comes to greeting dogs and I do get frustrated at times. With the right introductions I can walk alongside dogs and be relaxed. I need an experienced adopter to continue desensitising me to other dogs before I am ready to get up close and play. This mean I don't posses the skills to live with a dog right now.

What I love:

I love anything that involves you! I don't like being left alone. I love fuss and attention, I love toys and treats, playing fetch with balls is my favourite. I am also good int he car and like to travel.

Training needs:

I love training! In the past someone has taught me basic commands. I know sit, paw, down and stay and come in situations without distractions (not reliable re-call). I love training and I am a very obedient dog, I pick things up very quickly as I love to please my humans. I need to continue desensitising training around dogs on walk. My handlers don't know anything about me in a home, so please be prepared to show me the rope in a house as I settle in.

My dream home:

Naturally I do need a home with space, I am a large boy and struggle in small rooms especially when I am playful and bouncy. I do need a garden of my own with high fences that are secure. I need adopters who are experienced in large or giant breed and can continue my training and teaching me manners, I am a young puppy at heart!

Adoption Process & Fees

Staff are here to ensure the animals find homes which suit their needs. Most animals in our care have not had the best start in life and may require special care or training. We will assess your experience and assist you in finding the right pet for your home. Although we want our animals to start their new life with you as quickly as possible, our re-homing process can take a few weeks from start to finish. The process is as follows:
