Banjo is looking for a kind, patient adopter with experience of rescue dogs, particularly those who need a little extra time to build confidence. While he can be worried by people at first, Banjo is already showing that, with a gentle and understanding approach, he is capable of forming trusting relationships and growing in confidence.
Banjo will thrive in a calm home where he can settle at his own pace, with a secure house and private garden to enjoy while he adjusts to his new surroundings. In the early weeks, he’ll benefit from keeping life simple, allowing him to build trust before introducing walks, visitors or new experiences. Once he is comfortable, he enjoys exploring, but due to his sensitive nature, prey drive and history as a stray, he will need to remain on lead when out and about.
Banjo is still learning his house training, so his adopter will need to be happy to continue this with patience and consistency.
One of Banjo’s greatest strengths is how much another dog boosts his confidence. A confident, playful female Lurcher helps him feel happier, more secure and provides valuable social learning, so he would love a home with a canine companion of this type.
To give Banjo the very best chance of success, we are also happy to offer home visits, behavioural support and would consider a foster-to-adopt arrangement while he settles into his new home.
Banjo is a truly special boy who just needs a second chance to learn that humans are okay and to be shown what loves is. Can you give Banjo the life and love he deserves?
