Twelve Chihuahua x Pomeranian crosses have recently come into our care after being rescued from extremely poor conditions. These sweet dogs haven’t had the chance to experience regular walks, consistent care, or the comfort of a loving home—until now.
They’re still learning how to trust, and most aren’t used to walking on a lead just yet. Right now, they need homes with secure gardens where they can begin their toilet training journey and feel safe in their surroundings—walks may come later, in their own time. We have been seeing some great progress with some of the dogs toileting on training pads and feeling more confident to slowly explore our outside paddocks.
They’re under-socialised and wary of both people and other dogs, but we’re already seeing signs of progress with some playful behaviour. Because of this, we’re open to some of them possibly living with existing dogs, depending on individual temperaments and a successful meet and greet as part of the process before adopting.
They range in age from 8-month-old pups to 3-4 years old, and so we’ll assess each dog’s needs individually when it comes to children in the home. These dogs have missed out on so much—but with your help, they can finally start the life they’ve always deserved.
