Meet Rupert!
A gorgeous saluki with a big heart and an even bigger love for the great outdoors!
Rupert arrived in our care as a stray, so we don’t know anything about his life before coming to us. His new family should be prepared to give him time, patience and guidance as he learns all about home life.
One thing we do know is that Rupert is an absolute sweetheart! He is friendly and affectionate with everyone he mets, happily enjoying attention from both familiar and new people.
Rupert shows a clear preference for female dogs and particularly enjoys spending time with them, including happily playing and socialising off lead with suitable female dogs. He finds male dogs challenging, so needs an adopter who can continue his training around other dogs during walks.
Rupert will need a family who understands the natural instincts of sighthounds, including their love of chasing and their need for appropriate exercise and enrichment. A secure garden with fencing of at least 6ft is essential.
Rupert is currently learning his toilet manners, so his adopters will need to be prepared to continue his training while he settles into his new surroundings.
Rupert would be best suited to experienced dog owners, ideally those who already have experience with sighthounds and dealt with under socialised dogs. He has so much potential to make a wonderful companion for the right family, and with patience, consistency and understanding, we are sure this lovely boy has lots of happy adventures ahead of him.
Could you be Rupert’s perfect match?
