My background:
Hello everyone, my name is Athena! I found myself in the care of the RSPCA after I was found emaciated. I have been in kennels for six months now whilst my case resolved, but I am now pleased to say I am able to find my new family and home.
My personality:
I am very puppy like, bouncy, wiggly and full of beans! I am big in size with an even bigger heart, I have lots of love to give. I am a bouncy and happy girl who enjoys bounding around, sniffing and exploring, but I am also quick to come and cuddle up by your side and simply hang out and relax with you.
How I feel about people:
I love meeting new people, but I can take a bit longer to warm to some new men. Once I have met you I will open up my big heart and not let you go. I can live with children who are comfortable around big bouncy dogs like myself. I am clumsy and just don't realise my size sometimes!
How I feel about dogs:
I love dogs! I have been getting on well meeting many dogs here and like playing. I can get excited and am still learning some boundaries, but generally I am told I am very gentle despite my size. I could live with another dog that gets on well with me when you come to meet me.
What I love:
I am a massive cuddle monster and love nothing more than snuggling up close to you. I love walking and meeting other dogs.
Training needs:
I am not a fan of getting into a car, my handlers have been exposing me to a car but I haven't been brave enough to get in yet.
I have been in kennels for a long time now, so some things on my walks can worry me, I recover quickly but I need someone to expose me to the big wide world.
I also might need some reminders of how to behave in a home and where to toilet.
My dream home:
I do need an adopter with large breed experience and someone who is strong enough to take me on my daily walks, generally speaking I walk nicely on the lead, but at times I can be strong.
I would love a home with my own garden and a family who can teach me how to play with toys and give me plenty of time to adapt to my new house as it's been a while since I have been in a home.
