Shadow is a loving, affectionate dog who enjoys being around people and is happiest with human company. While he is friendly with everyone he meets, he can struggle with being left alone, both in kennels and in a home environment. Because of this, Shadow is looking for a home where someone is around for most of the day and can help him gradually build confidence with being left alone if needed.
Shadow is a strong walker, but he is halti-trained and walks very well wearing one. We recommend his new family continue using a halti if they find him too strong on the lead.
After arriving with us from a home, Shadow was initially quiet and overwhelmed, but he quickly settled and has shown himself to be a confident, adaptable dog. He regularly spends time in our indoor home room, where he loves relaxing on the sofa for a fuss while the TV is on. He appears comfortable in a home environment and should settle well into his new home with the right support. Shadow also loves to travel, he doesn’t hesitant to hop in a car and go on an adventure!
Around other dogs, Shadow can be selective. He is friendly and playful with some dogs but can be unsure of others, so he will need an owner who is confident reading his body language and introducing him to other dogs appropriately.
