One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is hearing how our former residents are getting on after adoption. Updates like this remind us of the incredible transformations that can happen when a dog is given time, patience, and a loving home.

We were delighted to receive the following update about Holly, who was adopted from Danaher in the summer of 2020:

“I just wanted to share a further update with you about our beloved housewolf Holly, whom we rescued from Danaher in the summer of 2020.

She had been in Danaher for quite a few months before we rescued her. We were told that she would probably never be a very cuddly dog. How wrong you were! She has really grown into a very loving and playful girl.

When we first got her she was very anxious at times, with people she didn't know and especially other dogs. Over time she has really grown in confidence and is incredibly sweet with people now.

She turned 10 in December and she doesn't look any different to when we first got her. People are always surprised at her age because she looks great and still very much acts like a young dog. Some of the attached photos are very recent and some are older.

She is very vocal and has an incredibly fun and sassy personality. She has come so far from the anxious and almost shut down dog that we first met during 2020 and has proven to be one of the best decisions me and my fiancee have made.

I just wanted to send another thanks to you guys for introducing us to this magical creature all those years ago.”

We are so grateful to Holly’s family for sharing this update and for giving her the loving home she deserves. Seeing dogs like Holly thrive after adoption is exactly why our work matters.

If you’ve adopted from Danaher and would like to share your own success story, we would love to hear from you. Please send a short write-up along with some photos to [email protected]
