When Stellar first arrived at Danaher Animal Home (then known as Luna), she was a shy and uncertain former stray, unsure of what life had in store for her. But everything changed on 16th November 2024, when she found her forever family and a brand-new name to match her bright spirit!
Renamed Stellar, she joined her new home in beautiful Derbyshire, where she met her new canine companion, Lunar the Border Collie. Her adopters say she settled in quickly and began to shine almost immediately. Though at first she struggled to be left alone and had a knack for helping herself to food, Stellar has blossomed into a well-mannered, loving dog. A year later, she calmly waits for her meals and can now be left alone for short periods, a wonderful sign of her growing confidence and trust.
Of course, with her mix of Whippet and Staffordshire Bull Terrier genes, Stellar is full of energy and affection, always wanting to be close to her humans. Her family describes her as "very clingy and not quite understanding personal space," but they wouldn’t have it any other way!
Over the past year, Stellar has explored the Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, and the beaches of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. When given the chance to stretch her legs safely off lead, she turns into a “little rocket,” sprinting with pure joy and freedom.
Her family shared, “We couldn’t imagine life without her. Stellar is a central part of our family, especially after losing Lunar in January. Thank you to everyone at Danaher, especially Lizzie and the team, for taking such good care of her.”
We’re overjoyed to see how far Stellar has come and how much love she’s brought to her family. From a stray with an uncertain future to a much-loved adventurer, Stellar truly lives up to her name... she’s shining bright! ✨
